Adorable 12K yellow gold filled classic vintage shaker pendant necklace that has silver flakes encased in a glass circle with a gold filled frame. This type of pendant is called a shaker locket as it holds something that can be shaken around and catches the light and the eye.
NOTE:
Shaker lockets were popular in the early 1900s but have been used in jewelry design through the years to more recent times. These lockets consist of two curved pieces of crystal or glass set in a metal frame. They can hold pressed flowers, pictures, and even little precious stones. The transparency of the glass allows one to see what’s inside. Shaker lockets provide a way for openly display something inside.
The front of this little shaker locket has ASPEN in cursive font in it as it was a souvenir of Aspen, Colorado. It is circa 1990s.
The round souvenir pendant hangs from a fine gold filled twisted link chain that secures with a spring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.
