A vintage two-tone blue enamelware Catherine Holm of Norway lotus serving bowl. This pattern was designed by Grete Prytz Kittelsen in the 1960s. This color bowl has a light blue background with a pattern of a darker blue leaf all around it.
The designer, Kittelsen, was born in 1917. She designed a numerous works using silver, vitreous enamel and plastic material. She was one of the leading artists of the Scandinavian Design movement, and she received several awards and honors. Her designs were known for their clear, plain colors and simple shapes. A little less well known is that Kittelsen designed informal, inexpensive silver and enamel jewelry. In the mid century, Kittelsen was called the “Queen of Scandinavian Design".

This retro bowl has an 8” diameter. The sides are 3 1/2“ high.
This retro bowl is in nice vintage condition. As it is enamel on the surface, there is some scratching on the inner surface, light rust on the rim edge. wear on the exterior leaf design and some scratching in exterior enamel. Wear is commensurate with vintage age. See photo closeups for detail. Price reflects condition.
