Vintage Mayfair pattern by Anchor Hocking Jadeite light green milk glass cookie or biscuit jar. This jar has wonderful rows of two ridges on the four sides and a raised floral design on the four panels that are in between the rows of ridges. The flowers in the raised design appear to be roses in full bloom. The glass is an opaque light green.
The lid has a great shape with the four corners having a scalloped edge to match the rows of ridges on the canister section below. There are also rows and panels of floral designs on the lid that match the bottom section. There is a raised round piece at the top below the knob. The knob is six-sided and widens as it goes up.
This is a vintage item but a reproduction of the original Depression Era Mayfair cookie jars that were made in the 1930s. This biscuit jar is circa 1980s.
Measures 7" high with the lid on. The canister section alone is 5 1/2" high. The top opening has a 5" diameter. The jar is approx. 6" in diameter and tapers very slightly at the base.
This retro kitchen decor or storage piece is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Lovely mint green biscuit jar from yesteryear!
