Vintage IVOREX Wall Art Plaque Old Folks at Home by Arthur Osborne - Made in England Retro Home Library Decor Wall Hanging Circa 1930s
A vintage wall art items that is Ivorex. It is in 3-D and features the Arthur Osborne work"The Old Folks at Home". These words are engraved in the retro wall decor piece on the bottom left corner. This plaque is circa 1932. The back has the words IVOREX, COPYRIGHT IN GREAT BRITAIN, CANADA, USAA, ARTHUR OSBORNE, MADE IN ENGLAND.
The wall plaque has an British SCENE with older couple and their dog sitting and enjoying a cup of tea by the fireplace. It is muted shades of rust, brown, gray, and ivory on a beige background.
NOTE: According to Kovels, Ivorex plaques were made in England by Arthur Osborne. B. Osborne Company. The company in operation from 1899 to 1965. The plaques, made of a material he called sterine wax, pictured buildings or room interiors modeled in three dimensions.
The library or home decor wall art items comes ready to hang with a string that is between two loops on the back.
Measures 9 1/2" by 6" and is approx. 1" thick.
In nice vintage condition with some signs of wear consistent with vintage age of this item - see photos for detail.
